KING peppermint: a Dutch brand since 1922
KING sounds royal, but its name tells a story about quality. The letters stand for the Dutch phrase Kwaliteit In Niets Geëvenaard, a promise of unmatched quality used when the peppermint brand was introduced in 1922.
Beginnings in Sneek
The earlier story starts in 1902, when the De Vries family began making peppermint in Sneek. Originally sold in pieces, the peppermint later became round tablets. A small sweet developed into a recognisable Dutch brand.
A refreshing classic
Peppermint was sometimes advertised using medical language in the past. That belongs to advertising history; today, it is a sweet to enjoy for its flavour.
