From trekdrop to Strekdrop: a nostalgic discovery

Some sweets are remembered for how you ate them as well as how they tasted. Dutch trekdrop has that stretchy character: liquorice you gently pulled apart before enjoying it.

A familiar idea developed again

Felko Holland created Strekdrop to bring this memory back to life. The company describes testing different recipes to develop its flavour and texture. It is a new interpretation of a familiar idea, rather than proof that every historical trekdrop used exactly the same recipe.

Try it yourself

CandyMixMatch offers Hollandse Strekdrop by Felko. Check the product page for ingredients, packaging and current availability. Taste memories are personal: you may recognise something from the past or discover a new favourite.

Trekdrop, Strekdrop and liquorice laces are not simply interchangeable names for the same product. Always check the particular version you are choosing.
